The Domain of Chaumont-sur-Loire is located in the Loire Valley of France where an International Garden Festival is held on the chateau grounds. Every year landscape gardeners and designers come from all over the world to take part in the festival. For over 30 years, the International Garden Festival has been a laboratory for contemporary garden and landscape design worldwide. As a treasure trove of ideas and nursery for burgeoning talents, the Festival gives a fresh boost to garden art, appealing to the public and the profession alike by showcasing new blooms and materials and innovative approaches and ideas. Through the diversity, creativity, and quality of the projects, the Festival has gained worldwide renown as an unmissable event for exhibiting the work of a new generation of landscape designers.

This design is done in collaboration with Scott Biehle, the Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture at the University of Arkansas, and my wonderful peer, Fiorella Sibaja. The fabrication of the bird and bug houses was completed alongside Ava McMoran, Oliver Right, and Elijah Willis as well. Thank you to Scott Biehle, my friends/classmates, and the Fay Jones School of Architecture + Design for this opportunity and experience. The installation was completed March 15th through March 30th of 2024!
