Celebrating in preschool.

Because Lydia is a summertime baby, she will never get to celebrate her real birthday in school. So her teacher had her celebrate her birthday a bit early while school was still in session. Lydia and I decorated this poster together and she took oreos to class to share for her treat.  She at first wished for cupcakes, but her teacher says no to cupcakes or sugar cookies because they make too big of a mess in preschoolers(very smart woman).  Then she asked for donuts, which I was about to buy, but when I realized I could just buy a package of oreos for much less moola, I convinced her oreos might be a better choice!  Yes, I’m a cheap skate.  But these are preschoolers, they don’t need an entire donut!  When she’s older, I’ll bring better treats.  🙂  Lydia loved loved loved being spotlighted in class and sharing more about herself.  My favorite things about her poster are how when she first wrote the number four, she wrote it backwards, her drawing of Charlotte, that her favorite book is a Fancy Nancy, and that she wants to be a mom when she grows up.  This girls melts my heart.
