We had a fantastic Easter. How was everyone else’s? It was fabulous weather that weekend. Our Easter weekend was started with me running in a 10k I signed up for last minute in Saratoga Springs on Saturday morning. A lot of my friends from our ward and area had signed up for this race and I thought why not? Beautiful running weather and the best part was the race ended at the park where an Easter Egg hunt would be held about a half hour after I finished my race. Except when I got there I realized all my friends had signed up for the 5k! Ha! Oh well, I was able to chat was everyone after both of the races were over. The run went great(for not running over five miles since the fall!) and Lydia was able to fight it out with other kids for eggs in her first official Easter Egg hunt ever. We were lucky to have great friends there with us so Lydia wasn’t all by her lonesome finding eggs by herself. The rest of the day was spent doing yard work. Whew! We sure got a lot done though. Greg loves a good green lawn. And I can’t wait to plan our veggie garden in a couple of weeks! And strawberries too.
Sunday morning came, but the Easter bunny did not wake up in time to give the girls their baskets before church(we have 9 am church. Good excuse right?). So…the bunny made his appearance after church and even tied a green string around the house for the girls to follow until they found their baskets. What a swell guy. 😉
Aren’t these sugar cookies that look like Easter baskets awesome? Madre made them with her skills and they were quite tasty too. I am grateful to live by so many family members to visit with on Easter. To celebrate the life of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and the sacrifice He made for us. I know He lives! Because of Him I have family to love and can live with for forever. I can’t think of a better way to spend Easter than spending it with loved ones to remember Christ and His love for us.
