Another year older and wiser.

Last weekend, we took another trip down to St. George. This time just our little family and to do a little birthday celebrating. I turned 29!  I can’t believe I am in the last year of my twenties. But again, I say that with every age I turn. The twenties have been real good to me. I can say I have enjoyed almost every year of my twenties with a couple of exceptions.   I was ready for age 20 to be over because that meant Gregory would be home from his mission.  His birthday is 10 days after mine.  So when I turned 21, he did too, which meant he was coming home!  And as cheesy as that is, it’s true.  Even though I had many great times with girlfriends, I was lonely for that boy.  And age 26 was filled with fertility drugs that came with a lot of fun(sarcasm people) affects to me physically and hormonally.  Although I would never change those times because I feel that I grow the most during challenging times(like we all do), I was sure glad to see those times in my life pass.

I really kind of love the time of year that Greg and I’s birthday falls.  Right at the beginning of spring!  When it feels like everything around you is waking up again.  Promise of new beginnings and getting to wear jackets instead of coats.  Or if you are in St. George this time of year, t-shirts and sandals instead of jackets. 🙂

Now twenties, stay good to me.  Let’s end this decade on a high note shall we?
