This past Monday we decided to hold our family home evening in the front room around our Christmas tree. Our Christmas tree is tall and beautiful. Have I told you how many lights Greg puts on this tree? Right around 2000. Last year it was a little bit more, but this year I was sicker than sick while he was trying to do it and one of our strands of lights went out. So instead of running to the store like we had to do twice last year for more lights, he decided 2000 would have to be good enough.
For family home evening, we watched a video about the birth of Christ on my lap top while drinking hot chocolate(Greg and I), chocolate milk(Lydia), and a special kind of milk(Hazel, haha). Lydia was captivated by the film. I love that she could tell us so much about what was happening in the video and knew who Mary, Joseph, the 3 Kings, and the Shepherds were. She even told me how cute she thought baby Jesus was. Children bring such a special magic to Christmas. I can’t get over how much more I love Christmas because of these girls. You think Christmas can’t get any better, and it does. Thanks to this little family of mine.
Anybody else stressed that Christmas is like a week and a half away? Good gravy.
