Wednesdays are our busy days. Lydia has preschool in the morning, then on to dance, and then I have Young Women’s in the evening. Normally, I don’t work out with a group of women from my ward on Wednesdays to simplify my morning, but I made it today because I needed a good work out. I came back and realized I only had 45 minutes to feed Hazel, put her down for a nap, shower and blow dry my hair until I needed to pick up Lydia. Oh and throw some breakfast in my mouth too. Then I remembered why I work out at home on Wednesdays. Or work out on a day I absolutely don’t have to wash my hair! But going on day 4 of no wash is just past my breaking point.
I got all the way until blow drying my hair. So it was off with wet hair in crazy sweats I threw on myself while rushing out the door to pick up Lydia from preschool. I was lookin real fine I tell you what. The 20 degree weather felt great on my head too. 🙂 Then it’s off to dance! I can’t even tell you how cute it is to see Lydia practice her little Christmas dance. Oh man. Makes my day. While Lydia was dancing her heart out, I made a fantastic discovery. Hazel has two little teeth breaking through those gums of hers! She seemed proud. Gave me big smiles and clapped with me. I take that as her displaying pride.
When we get back home I feed us lunch and put Hazel down for another nap. Photo editing and processing is calling my name and I get to work as Lydia watches a show.
It’s days like this I feel like a real legitimate mama. Sometimes, I feel like a fake. You know! I see other women with all their kids running them back and forth while balancing a baby’s schedule and making dinner as well. I think they are legitimate mothers. But me? I don’t do that kind of stuff! Until Wednesdays. Because Wednesdays are our busy days. And apparently busy days help me feel like a “real” mama.
