I am Kara Simmons! I like natural light, portrait style, photography. I am all natural light photography expect at the occasional wedding reception where flash is needed. What should I wear or what should my child/children wear for a photo session?
A great reference and examples of what to wear can be found here! Also, browse the family photography posts on my blog for inspiration. I have been very fortunate to photograph really adorable families who dress very cute. Just make sure you are feeling cute! Because if mama doesn’t feel pretty, she won’t like the pics. You feel me?
Where should I get my pictures printed?
Fabulous question! You can find a great reference here. And another great reference here. An awesome local place to print in Utah county would be Kenny’s photo lab in Orem. A great professional lab to print in the SLC county would be Nichols photo lab. A fabulous online professional print lab is Mpix. Just remember, you get what you pay for when it comes to printing.
Do I get to keep my picture CD?
Yes you do! You have my rights to print them off when and where you wish. I keep your images on back up on my hard drive for about a year, so you do have a back up if you somehow lose your CD. But after about a year I clean out my images so I can have room on my hard drives for more beautiful images!
How did you meet your husband and how long have you been married?
Greg and I met in high school. We were towards the end of our senior year when we began dating. We dated for almost a year before he left to serve an LDS mission in Peoria, Illinois for two years. We kept in close contact throughout that time and when he got back home we had our wedding date set within two weeks of him coming home. :) We were married August 10, 2006 in the Salt Lake Temple.
How many kids do you have?
We have two darling girls. Lydia who is four years old and Hazel who is under one year. We can’t get enough of them! Oh, and a dog named Charlotte.
