When cousins sleep over.

Cousins Eme and Tayden slept at our house last week. Lydia had the time of her life. Eme slept in her room and they giggled for at least a half hour each night before I had to go threaten them with taking away treats or activities for the next day!!  Poor Tayden slept in a big closet we have downstairs.  No giggling or threats for him.  Now who else wants their kids to sleepover at Gregory and Kara’s house of fun?!

Then I did the girls’ hair all matching like one day.  Because that’s what you do when cousins sleep over.

Tayden felt left out and wanted to get in a picture too.

Come play again Eme and Tayden!

Memorial Day weekend, a review.

Our Memorial Day weekend started off with Greg and I celebrating milestones of our relationship on the 25th. He happened to kiss me for the first time on May 25th, 2003 and then proposed three years later on the same date.  Almost a decade of togetherness?  Good heavens, that’s just crazy.

Saturday we traveled to SLC to have lunch with my family to celebrate my brother Kade’s bday. The big 31!
Oh and we had to walk a couple of blocks in the pouring rain. Lydia clung to me under our umbrella for dear life.

On Sunday, Lydia ran away from me as I turned my head for one second to talk to a friend in church and just like that she was gone. Greg and I walked as fast as we could to her nursery class to see if she ran there, but no Lydia. We were running around like crazy for a few minutes looking everywhere and lucky for us my friend in the ward saw she was lost (and was crying!) picked her up and took her to her nursery class for us. It was awful feeling. I made her cuddle with me after church to recover from the whole ordeal.

Monday, we did some shopping and while at H&M I was mistaken by other shoppers as an employee twice. Is this good that a mother is mistaken in her mid/late twenties or bad? You tell me.

And then I let Lydia soak herself silly in the water fountains. She was in heaven.

Awesome weekend to kick off our summer! Let’s hear it for summer 2012!  So glad it’s here.

Blake.

Cute Blake is my cousin’s little boy and will turn two in July. He is also going to be a big brother soon as well! Congrats again Nick and Kristin.

Banana ice cream.

You must try banana ice cream. I have seen this simple idea floating around the internet for a long time and now with my blend tec blender I could finally do it! Just freeze a couple of bananas and then pop them in your food processor or blender(if it can puree) and your frozen bananas look and have the consistency just like ice cream. So yummy.  Lydia and I love to eat it with a spoonful of peanut butter too.  Such a great way to curb my sweet tooth when I have that I need a treat right now feeling.  Obviously, if you don’t like bananas this isn’t for you, but if you do you are in luck.  It’s delicious!  Just in time for summer.

Gordon and Jessica.

Gordon and Jessica are an adorable couple about to start their family through adoption! I couldn’t be more excited for them. And isn’t Jessica just teeny tiny? She’s even smaller and cuter in person folks.

Rainy day girl.

Lydia adores this polka dot umbrella we have. She begs me to let her play with it whenever she gets a glimpse of it in the coat closet in the front room.  She has never quite used it for it’s real purpose yet, but we can pretend that in these pictures there is actually rain coming down around her.  The clouds were definitely threatening rain!

Ainsley.

We have a new cousin for Lydia on the Simmons side. Little Ainsley. She’s adorable and I love the way Lydia says her name!  The way she pronounces it is pretty darn cute.  Addie is a proud big sis.  Congrats again guys.

P.S. I no longer have any photography sessions available left in the months on May, June, or July. During these months I will only be booking for Newborn sessions. I am currently booking for August 2012 and the months afterwards. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to schedule your family session for this August 2012 or fall months of 2012. Thank you!

Mastering the art.

We are mastering the art of obnoxious funny faces in the Simmons household this rainy afternoon. Lydia seems to be learning quickly! By the way, my eyes are super red because of allergies not because I was turned into a vampire. Wearing my glasses was fun for the first day and I was thinking,”Why don’t I wear these more often?!” Then day two came and I realized they are hard to work out in, they give me headaches, and I get them dirty somehow really fast. I know the glasses look is popular, but I could care less, give me back my contacts!
